Community Phlebotomy Service in Bromley
When you require a blood test as part of your treatment you will be referred to the phlebotomy clinic for the sample to be taken.
Blood tests for children under 13 have to be booked using the electronic referral service via the GP
You must have no food or drink with the exception of plain water for a minimum of 14 hours prior to the time the sample is taken
The walk in clinic at the Princess Royal University Hospital is no longer available for GP requested blood tests. Instead, you will be able to have your bloods taken in a number of local GP practices by appointment. Walk in clinics will continue at Orpington and Beckenham Beacon.
Any patient requiring an INR blood test can still go to the PRUH walk in centre.
You can book cancel and rearrange an appointment by contacting the Bromley GP Alliance directly on 0203 930 0245

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING PHLEBOTOMY SERVICES 27.08.2021
A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.
